Bio

Spanish – Dutch conductor Samuel Tamarit Otero (1987) is a very promising conductor with "the assured technique, strong musical ideas and a lot of charisma". Samuel was awarded the First Prize at the Felix Mendelssohn International Conducting Competition in January 2024 by unanimous decision of the jury, thanks to his outstanding interpretation of Mendelssohn's Fourth Symphony.

In recent years, he has conducted various orchestras, including Gran Canaria Philharmonic Orchestra, Czech Philharmonic Orchestra Pardubice, Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra. Samuel pursued his conducting studies at Opus 23 Academy under the guidance of maestros Miguel Romea and Andrés Salado. Tamarit Otero attended masterclasses at Royal Northern College of Music or Musik Akademie in Basel with conductors such as Jorma Panula, Johannes Schlaefli, Martin Sieghart, Nicolás Pasquet, Antony Hermus, Charles Olivieri - Munroe and Karel Mark Chichon.
